Chunky side table

This side table is chunky and solid and is in great shape it just needed an uplift from that boring old brown. Here's what it looked like when I picked it up.

After a some priming and sanding it's already starting to look better.  The table top is actual quite gorgeous.  I initially thought I'd paint the base white but keep the top to stain a dark espresso color.

 However, look how nice the wood looks on top.  People keep commenting on it thinking it's done.  That might be a sign to keep it as is. The following pics are with the table painted in annie sloan old white.

                                 Don't forget there's a drawer in this one...just removed at the moment!
